Mountain View, Encaustic & Cold Wax, 60 x 60 cm by Midge ACE

This 5 week art workshop explores various painting techniques and skills to create paintings inspired by nature under professional artist guidance and tuition using artist quality materials.

This workshop provides and introduction into using encaustic (hot wax) and cold wax painting techniques with oil, collage & other media to create layered and textural still life paintings or paintings inspired by nature.

The course covers all aspects of working with wax including how to make your own cold wax mediums, preparing your supports, creating and incorporating elements into your work, combining different media, layering and other mixed media & wax/encaustic techniques. Plenty demonstrations of different techniques for everyone to explore.

All artist quality materials provided (no need to buy). Free tea, coffee & parking.

April 5th to May 17th (5 weeks) – Painting from Life

Learn the fundamentals of painting beautiful skin tones to abstracting colour in this painting from life workshop. Working from a live model develop sketches into beautiful figurative paintings. There will be an additional fee of £5 for each of the 4 life model sessions (1 session will not include a life model).

Dates & Times: Apr 5th, 12th, May 3rd, 10th, 17th 2018, 7-9 PM

Location: Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham, Gallery 2

Cost: £15 per session pay as you go or £75 total for all 5 weeks (payable at first session).

£5 model fee payable separately on the 4 nights out of the 5 sessions we have a model (i.e. £20 payable on these evenings)

May 24th to June 28 (6 weeks) – Mixed Media Workshop  

This workshop includes working with acrylics & acrylic mediums (gels & pastes etc), inks, collage and monoprinting along with a range of other dry media to create expressive, semi-abstract or abstract compositions of Landscape, seascape or still life paintings.

THEME: Landscapes, Seascapes & Still life

Dates & Times: May 24th, 31st, June 7, 14, 21, 28th, 7-9 PM

Location: Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham, Gallery 2

Cost: £15 per session pay as you go or £90 total for all 6 weeks (payable at first session)

Level: Ideal for beginners or more advanced levels.
